Surfing

Very few activites can compare to surfing. With the right mindset, surfing will transport you to a tranquil, and at the same time, intense place. Water, air, wind, energy - surfing takes place in an orchestra of the planet's most basic, yet incredible elements.

I can think of no other sport that offers such enlightenment - such a connection with nature and the earth. So much so, in fact, that it just feels good to paddle around, even when the waves go flat. Yes, of course, waves are better than flat. but you get the idea...
